Client Setup Disks
NEW!!!!! TA Cube is now also doing SETI@Home. Grab your setup disks HERE!
The first set of disks are specific to TA Cube. When you run the setup file, you will automatically become a part of TA Cube AND a part of Team AnandTech. No need to do anything else. If you use this version of the client, please let ONE know so that we can add you to the Integrals pages.
The second set, generic Team AnandTech disks, are configured for the Team AnandTech keyserver, and the ini file is pre-configured, but they don't automatically place you on the team. THIS IS IMPORTANT: You will still need to follow the procedure outlined here in order to make sure your blocks are credited to the team.
By downloading and using these disks, you agree to abide by all Distributed.net contest rules and that you will NEVER install this client on a computer unless you have explicit permission.
Win32 for dialup connections (Specific for TA Cube) Since these disks are completely pre-configured, this installation is as simple as can be.:-) Just download the appropriate zip file, extract to a floppy, run the setup.bat file, and you're done! What could be easier? |
Win32 for 24/7 connections (Specific for TA Cube) Since these disks are completely pre-configured, this installation is as simple as can be.:-) Just download the appropriate zip file, extract to a floppy, run the setup.bat file, and you're done! What could be easier? |
Win32 for dialup connections (Generic Team AnandTech) There are two different versions of this disk. One will install the client normally, so that the little cow icon appears in the task bar, and creates a shortcut in the startup folder. There is no need to restart the computer with this version. The other version, designated with an "-s" at the end of the file name, will install the client as a service, so that it will run hidden and not be visible. With this version, the computer needs to be restarted. Use this disk if you are with a standard dialup ISP. It is configured to buffer 2000 blocks at a size of 2x33. This should be plenty to munch on in between connections. If it runs out of blocks in the In Buffer, it will automatically attempt a connection to get more. This disk will work with Windows 95, 98, 98SE, Me. It has not been tested with Win NT or Win2K, but it should work just fine. After downloading the zip file, extract it to a clean, formatted floppy disk. You can use this floppy to setup as many machines as you have permission to do! Run the setup.bat file that is on the floppy, and this will create the necessary directory and copy over the necessary files. These files are pre-configured for Team AnandTech, disabling OGR and updating to the team keyserver. It will also bring up the configuration screen where you will enter your Dnet ID (your eMail address). After you've saved this information and closed the screen, you're good to go! If installing the standard version, there is no need to restart. If installing the service (hidden) version, you will need to restart. If you've installed the service version and want to verify that it started up after you rebooted, just run Accessories/System Tools/System Monitor, and if your CPU usage is at, or near, 100% you're cracking! Okay, give me the disks! |
